NORRISTOWN – Golfers, sponsors and banquet-goers are invited to the second annual Madison Bank Relief Fund Golf Outing to be hold Aug. 30 at Plymouth Country Club.
Proceeds will be split between two area men who have been injured and need financial help. For $600, each foursome will enjoy a full day of golf, a buffet dinner and each golfer’s name displayed at a designated hole. Golfers can also bring dinner-only guests for $50 per person.
Plenty of prizes and surprises will add to this year’s event, organizers said. Donations for door prizes and giveaways are being sought
Proceeds from the outing will fund the “Madison Bank Relief Fund, Inc.,” a 501c(3) entity that benefits George Butera and Ed Orme III.
Butera suffered a spinal cord injury 13 years ago when diving into the Atlantic Ocean. Today he is a quadriplegic and needs to renovate his house to better accommodate him.
Orme is 19 years old and has brain damage that requires his family to help him in day-to-day tasks. His plans to enter the U.S. Coast Guard were thwarted in a car crash shortly after graduating from Methacton High School. His family will also use the money for home alterations.
“They’re both medically challenged,” said Tina DeLeo, Madison Bank assistant vice president in charge of community reinvestment, “and they both need some help as far as living day to day.”
