Surgery for Sam – Update

Hello-

I just wanted to bring you all up to date on Sam’s progress.  He’s doing great!  His surgery went as expected, and the little champ is slowly, but steadily recovering.  He’s off the respirator, breathing on his own, and his blood/oxygen levels are rising.  Also, he’s got all but a few lines out.  He’s still being fed by IV because they want to make sure there’s no issues with his digestive track (a possible complication of his condition), but so far, everything is looking good.  Once they’re sure everything is OK, they’ll start feeding him formula.

We’re still not sure when he’s coming home, but we’re hoping it will be pretty soon.  We’ll keep you posted when we know more.
