Sam Update… Part II

Dear family and friends-

I’m very happy to tell you that Sam has been moved out of the CICU to the step-down unit!  He’s progressing much faster than the doctors had anticipated and there’s a chance that he’ll be home by the weekend.  He’s still not eating by mouth, but he’s completely off the IV nutrition and feeding on formula and breast milk.  He failed his first swallow test, and will be tested again in a few weeks.  In the mean time, he’ll come home with a feeding tube in his nose.  We can’t wait until Sam and Max are together again.
