Sam & Max Updates

Welcome to all things Sam and Max, our twin boys.  These boys are the love of our lives!  Born on January 6, 2009, they quickly became the center of our universe, and we’re loving every minute of it.  Allow me to introduce them:

Samuel Ethan Butera, the older of the Butera brood by one minute, is our little thinker.  Often having a look of contemplation on his face, we’re convinced he has an old soul.  Sam was born with a congenital heart defect.  At four months in utero, he was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Vessels (TGV) and a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).  He will need surgery to correct these issues, but we’re expecting him to live a relatively normal life.

Max Emerson Butera is our little joker.  It won’t take long for him to melt your heart with one of his big grins.  No matter how bad of a day you may be having, one smile or chuckle from Max will make everything better.
